Join Us for Sunday30!

Sunday30 is Redeemer Lutheran Church's Christian educational program for children that takes place on Sundays during the 8:45 am worship service.  The program runs approximately from Labor day until Memorial Day.

How does Sunday30 Work?

Families attend Redeemer's 8:45 am worship service.  After enjoying praise music and a short children's message, the children are dismissed to participate in a special program of their own.  Following the Sunday30 program, the children return to the worship service to participate in communion with their families.

Sunday30 Format

Sunday30 has two formats.  Large Group Sundays, all children meet together in a large group setting called the "Children's Devotional Sunday".  In this setting, children will learn about worshiping together by singing songs, hearing an inspirational lesson, collecting offering, and praying together about their needs and concerns.  On the remaining Sundays of the month, the children meet in small groups led by a Sunday30 team member using age-appropriate curriculum.  There are four small groups as follows:  preschoolers and Kindergarten, 1st graders and 2nd, 3rd graders, and 4th and 5th graders.

Sunday30 Curriculum

This year Sunday30 is using the David Cook Tru curriculum for preschool - 3rd Grades and the Group Grapple curriculum for the 4th and 5th.  These curriculums provide weekly, age-appropriate lessons that incorporate bible study, educational games, meditative and personal reflection, group sharing and prayer.  Research proves the greatest influence on faith development are the conversations that take place in the home.

What else does Sunday30 do?

Sunday30 helps children by providing opportunities to serve their community and world through coordinated outreach programs and extracurricular activities.  Specifically, Sunday30 children sponsor two children through World Vision and have raised funds to support local charities.

Who can participate in Sunday30?

Any child, age 3 through 5th grade is welcome to participate in Sunday30.  There is no obligation or cost.  Families do not need to be a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in order for their children to attend.  Parents of interested children are asked to complete a contact sheet so the Sunday30 team can keep families informed about Sunday30 activities.

Sunday30 Leadership Team

Sunday30 is a volunteer-led ministry of the church.  Persons with a desire to share God's good news about Jesus with children may contact the Sunday30 Coordinator through the church office to inquire about volunteer opportunities.
